A private vehicle traveling from Salt Lake Municipality towards the city center lost control and collided with a roadside divider, causing the car to overturn. The vehicle was driven by Shahabuddin Chowdhury, the brother of former minister Karim Chowdhury.
The car bore a label on its front, indicating its association with MLA and former minister AK Chowdhury's family.
Shahabuddin was seriously injured in the accident and was immediately taken to Bidhannagar Mahakuma Hospital. According to hospital sources, his condition is stable. The accident has drawn attention due to the involvement of a prominent political family.
